LandscapingSoftware vs LMN

LMN earned its name over 16 years. We built around its gaps from day one.

LMN's budget-based estimating is the best in the category. If your bigger lever is renewing service contracts and running snow plus fert in one modern system — at a price a growing shop can start at — that's where we lead.

The honest take

Respect the track record. Question the trade-offs.

LMN has been built by landscapers, for landscapers, since 2009 — now part of the Granum family. Its ground-up estimating and estimate-vs-actual job costing are genuinely best-in-category, and ProSnow is a real snow-estimating strength. We respect all of it.

The trade-offs are also real: reviewers repeatedly cite a clunky UI and steep learning curve, customer texting is outbound-only (and now a paid add-on), job costing — the most-praised feature — is gated to the Professional tier, and 2026 pricing of $297/$648 plus an onboarding fee left the small-shop band behind. Because we're newer, we built around those gaps.

Choose LMN if…

  • You’re a design-build or construction-heavy shop that lives on bottoms-up budget estimating and job costing — that’s LMN’s home turf.
  • You need a bilingual (English/Spanish) crew app with offline mode as a hard requirement.
  • You’re 2+ years deep on LMN with extensive job-cost history — the switching cost is real data, not just habit.

Choose us if…

  • Your revenue lever is recurring service — mowing, fert programs, snow seasons — where auto-renewing a book with a built-in uplift beats estimate sophistication.
  • You want rounds that enforce their application windows, with dose calculation and EPA-ready logs on the same visits.
  • You want both seasons in one product without a module boundary — storm dispatch and summer programs on the same customers.
  • You want to start at $99–$229/mo with no onboarding fee and be live in days, not a quarter.

The pricing gap

LMN left the growing-shop price band. We live in it.

In 2026 LMN moved its published entry to $297/mo (Professional $648/mo) plus a one-time onboarding fee — well above the SMB entry point it used to serve. If you're a 1–10 crew operation, that's a big check for a tool whose most-praised feature starts on the $648 tier. Our tiers stay at $99, $229, and $399 — published, month-to-month, no onboarding fee, and a free trial instead of a commitment.

Questions

LandscapingSoftware vs LMN FAQ

What is LMN genuinely best at?

Budget-based estimating and job costing. LMN builds estimates from labor, materials, equipment, and overhead from the ground up, and its real-time estimate-vs-actual job costing is widely praised — note that as of July 2026 job costing is gated to the Professional tier and up. For estimate-heavy design-build work, that depth is real.

Where do you clearly lead LMN?

Contract renewals and modern workflow. Multi-year contracts here auto-renew nightly with a built-in price uplift, and the Renewal Wizard rolls a whole book into the new season — LMN is weak on renewal automation. Reviewers also repeatedly cite LMN’s UI as clunky with a steep learning curve; we’re newer and built around those complaints.

How does LMN pricing compare?

As of July 2026, LMN’s published pricing is $297/mo (Starter, 1 office user + 5 crew licenses) and $648/mo (Professional), plus a one-time onboarding fee — pricing that has moved well above the SMB entry point it used to serve. Our tiers are $99, $229, and $399 a month with no onboarding fee, which keeps that mid-market band covered.

What about texting customers?

LMN’s customer texting is outbound-only — its own support documentation says customer replies aren’t received — and it’s now a paid add-on ($75 registration + $30/mo as of July 2026). We don’t offer customer SMS at all today. Neither platform gives you a two-way conversation; we’d rather say that plainly.

What about snow?

Both platforms take snow seriously — LMN’s ProSnow module handles snow estimating, pre-season contracts, and event tracking. Our storm events focus on the operational side: one-pass visit generation for every active snow job, live completion tracking, and same-day billing, in the same product that runs your summer programs.

This comparison reflects publicly available information, vendor materials, and third-party review data as of July 2026, not hands-on testing.
