Fertilization & weed control

Lawn Fertilization & Weed Control Software

Five rounds, each in its window, dosed off the label, logged for the state, billed per round, and renewed with a price bump. If your business is applications, this is the workflow the software is built around — not an add-on to a mowing scheduler.

Multi-round fertilization program with seasonal application windows

Rounds, not appointments

The round is the unit of work. Treat it that way.

A fert program isn’t six appointments — it’s six rounds, each with a date window the agronomy dictates. Build the program once: Round 1 pre-emergent, March 15 to April 15; Round 2 broadleaf, and so on. Every customer you sell becomes a job linked to that program.

One click generates a visit for every active job in a round — placed inside the window, skipping your blackout dates, never duplicating what’s already scheduled. Round statuses advance automatically overnight as windows open and visits complete, so the program page always tells you where the season actually stands.

A round, end to end

  1. 1

    Window opens

The round moves to In Progress on its own; generate visits for every enrolled job in one pass.

  2. 2

    Crews run the loop

Memorized routes put the stops in the same efficient order every round — no re-planning.

  3. 3

    Applications get logged

Each visit row has a Chem Log button that pre-fills the customer, site, date, area, and weather.

  4. 4

    Round completes, you bill it

Invoice Round creates one invoice per customer; customers pay online in your portal.

The compliance module

Records you’d be comfortable handing an inspector.

If you apply commercially, record-keeping isn’t optional — and a binder of scribbled spray sheets is a bad place to keep your legal history. The chemical module keeps it properly:

A catalog that enforces itself

Each product stores its EPA registration number, active ingredient, signal word, restricted-use flag, re-entry interval, and default label rates. Flag a product RUP and every log requires an applicator license number before it saves.

Dose math off the label

Label rate in, tank-ready totals out: total product, carrier volume, tank counts, product per tank — fl oz to gallons and acres to square feet converted for you, standalone or inside the log form.

Snapshot records that can’t drift

Saving a log freezes the product details and site address into the record. Rename a product next year — the old logs still say exactly what was true on the day of application. Wrong records are voided with a reason, never deleted.

A register with PDF exports

Filter by date, product, applicator, or customer. Export a Record PDF for one application — with a signature line, built for hand-off to a state inspector — or a PDF summary of the whole filtered register.

The software keeps organized, consistent records — it isn’t legal advice, and requirements vary by state. Your state’s department of agriculture defines what compliance means for your license.

Route density is the margin

Six visits a year means the drive time is the cost.

Application work lives and dies on stops per hour. The route planner orders a day’s stops by drive distance, you tweak it with local knowledge, then memorize it as a template — every round after that is load, apply template, save. A capacity check warns you before a day is overbooked, and when weather pushes a round, the rain-shift tool moves the whole schedule in one preview-then-commit step instead of visit by visit.

Renewals are the business

Next year’s book, rolled forward with the price bump.

Renewal Reminders surface every job and program coming due in the window you set. The wizard copies programs into the new year — same rounds, windows shifted, everything reset to Not Started — and renews jobs with their line items and a 0–50% price uplift applied in one pass, with optional proposal PDFs per customer. Non-renewers never fall off the list, so late yeses are still easy money.

Built for application work

The features fert operators lean on

Programs & seasons

Windowed rounds that generate their own visits and advance overnight.

Contracts & renewals

Roll the book into next year with a price uplift — or automate it with contracts.

If you do more than applications

Mowing routes, projects, and plows live here too.

Plenty of application companies also mow, build, or push snow. The same customers and crews carry across all of it — weekly maintenance routes on the lawn care side, project estimates and deposits on the hardscape side, and storm dispatch on the snow side.

Questions

Fertilization & weed control FAQ

Does it calculate my product doses?

Yes. The dose calculator turns a label rate and a treated area into total product, water (carrier) volume, tank counts, and product per tank — with unit conversions handled for you — fluid ounces, pints, and quarts to gallons for liquids, ounces to pounds for dry product. It lives as a standalone page and inside the application-log form, where one click copies the results into the record. It does the arithmetic from the numbers you give it; the label remains the legal document, so always verify against it.

What does a state inspector actually see?

The Chem Log register: every application, filterable by date, product, applicator, or customer. Each record exports as a Record PDF — product, EPA reg number, site, rate, applicator, weather, notes, and a signature line — and the whole filtered register exports as a PDF summary. Records are frozen snapshots: renaming a product or editing a site later never changes what an old log says, and logs are never deleted, only voided with a reason.

How does restricted-use product handling work?

Flag a product as Restricted Use in your catalog and every log that uses it requires an applicator license number before it will save (a supervising applicator’s number is acceptable). The RUP flag, EPA reg number, and active ingredient flow from the catalog into each record automatically.

Can I bill by the round?

Yes — that’s the native billing shape here. When a round completes, one click creates one invoice per customer for that round’s work, and “Invoice Completed Rounds” does every completed round in a single pass, skipping anything already invoiced. Customers pay by card or bank through your branded portal.

What happens at renewal season?

Renewal Reminders list every job and program coming due inside a window you set. The Renewal Wizard rolls them into next year’s season — programs copy their rounds with windows shifted to the new year, jobs copy their line items with a price uplift of your choosing (0–50%), and you can generate a proposal PDF per customer. Customers who don’t renew stay on the list, so a late “yes” in March is still one click.

Which plan do fert and squirt operators need?

Pro, at $229/month — programs and rounds, chemical tracking and EPA logs, seasons, and renewals are all Pro features. Starter covers scheduling, CRM, invoicing, the portal, and the crew app if you’re not running program work yet. Pricing is published; no sales call required.
