LandscapingSoftware vs RealGreen

RealGreen goes deep on lawn treatment. We go deep on lawn treatment — and snow.

RealGreen is the specialist's specialist for multi-crew lawn-treatment companies. But it starts at three crews, hides its pricing behind a sales call, and doesn't do snow. If that's ever chafed, here's the comparison.

The honest take

Real specialization — with real friction.

RealGreen, owned by WorkWave, has spent decades on lawn-treatment workflows: chemical and application records, satellite property measurement, marketing automation with dozens of automated touchpoints, and a capable customer portal. For a pure lawn-treatment operator with five-plus crews and no snow, that depth can win.

The friction is equally consistent in public reviews: pricing is opaque — a tier page with no dollar figures and a mandatory sales call — there's an effective 3-crew minimum that locks out smaller operators, price-increase complaints are frequent, and snow work isn't the platform's focus. We built for the operators those four things leave out.

Choose RealGreen if…

  • You’re a pure lawn-treatment operation with 5+ crews and no snow — their vertical depth at that scale is real.
  • Satellite property measurement is a must-have for your estimating — that capability is still theirs, not ours.
  • You want WorkWave’s embedded financial products — consumer financing and merchant capital.
  • A large prebuilt marketing-automation library (renewal, prepay, win-back campaigns) matters more than price transparency.

Choose us if…

  • You run lawn and snow — storm dispatch, per-push tracking, and same-day storm billing live in the same system as your treatment rounds.
  • You’re a 1–2 crew operator RealGreen won’t start with — there’s no crew minimum here, and Starter is $99/mo.
  • You want to see prices before a sales call — our tiers are published and the trial is free, no credit card.
  • You want treatment-grade records — dose calculation, EPA reg numbers, snapshot application logs, inspector-ready PDFs — without enterprise onboarding.

The wedge, plainly

The chemical-records moat isn't a moat anymore.

For years, compliance-grade application records were the reason treatment companies tolerated opaque pricing and crew minimums. That trade is no longer necessary: dose calculation, EPA-referenced product catalogs, snapshot legal records, and inspector-ready exports are all here — on a published $229/mo plan, with storm dispatch for your winter work included in the same product. What RealGreen still owns is satellite measurement; if that's your deciding feature, they're your vendor.

Questions

LandscapingSoftware vs RealGreen FAQ

Where is RealGreen genuinely strong?

Deep lawn-treatment specialization: compliance-grade chemical and application records, satellite property measurement (Measurement Assistant), a large marketing-automation suite with renewal and win-back campaigns, and a customer portal with autopay and service requests. For a pure lawn-treatment operator at scale, that depth is real.

What is the 3-crew minimum?

RealGreen’s own pricing page labels its Small Business tier as "ideal for 3+ crews" — the platform is aimed at multi-crew lawn-treatment operations, and smaller shops are effectively outside its target. We have no crew minimum; one- and two-crew operators start on our $99 Starter plan.

Can I see RealGreen’s pricing?

Not in dollars. As of July 2026 RealGreen publishes a tier structure (Small Business / Professional / Enterprise) but no prices — a sales call is required, and third-party estimates suggest roughly $199+/mo depending on configuration. Reviewers also report frequent price increases. Our tiers are published: $99, $229, $399.

How do the chemical records compare?

This used to be RealGreen’s exclusive; it isn’t anymore. We calculate doses from the treated area and label rate, keep a product catalog with EPA registration numbers and restricted-use flags, and freeze every application into a snapshot record with inspector-ready PDF exports. Satellite property measurement, though, is still theirs — we don’t offer it.

What about snow?

Snow isn’t RealGreen’s focus — no meaningful snow-operations capability surfaced in our review of their public materials. If you plow in the shoulder season, that’s the clearest difference: our storm events dispatch, track, and bill snow work in the same system as your treatment programs.

This comparison reflects publicly available information, vendor materials, and third-party review data as of July 2026, not hands-on testing. RealGreen's pricing requires a sales call, so cost figures are approximate and sourced from third-party industry reports. Features and pricing change; verify current details with each vendor.
