Your Profile, Password & Preferences
Last updated July 6, 2026 · All users
Every user can manage their own account from the first two tabs of Settings: Profile (your name, sign-in email, and display preferences) and Password Change. These are per-user settings — they only affect you, not your teammates. For company-wide settings, see Company Settings.
Before you start
- Open Settings from the left sidebar or the gear icon in the top-right corner. The page opens on the Profile tab.
- To change your password you’ll need your current password. If you’ve forgotten it, sign out and use “Forgot your password?” on the login page instead.
Update your profile (name and email)
- On the Profile tab, edit First Name, Last Name, and Email. First and last name are required; the email must be a valid email address.
- Click Update Profile.
What happens next
- If you changed only your name, you stay in Settings with a “Success: Profile updated.” banner.
- If you changed your email, you are signed out automatically with the message “Profile updated. Please sign in again to refresh your session.” Sign back in with the new email address — it’s now your username.
- If the new email is invalid or already registered to another user, a red error banner explains it and nothing is changed.
Change your password
- Click the Password Change tab.
- Enter your Current password, then your New password twice (New password and Confirm new password).
- Click Update password.
What happens next
You’ll see “Your password has been updated.” and your new password takes effect immediately. For security, any signed-in sessions on the crew mobile app are signed out when you change your password — sign in again on your phone with the new password.
Display preferences
Workflow guides
On the Profile tab, the Preferences card has a Show Workflow Guides switch. Workflow guides are the step-by-step help cards shown at the top of pages (including the Dashboard). The switch saves instantly — no Save button needed:
- On (default) — guides appear on each page.
- Off — guides are hidden product-wide for your account.
Grid layout memory
List pages (such as the Customers list) automatically remember your grid layout — column arrangement, sorting, and filters — while you work. This happens on the list pages themselves; there is nothing to configure in Settings.
Tips & best practices
- Keep workflow guides on while you’re learning the product; turn them off once the reminders become noise. You can flip the switch back any time.
- Changing your email signs you out on purpose — it’s how the app makes sure everything reflects the new address. Plan for the 30-second re-login.
- Use a password manager. Your email is your username everywhere, including the mobile app.
Troubleshooting
- “The passwords do not match.” — New password and Confirm new password must be identical; retype them.
- “The current password is incorrect.” — the old password you entered doesn’t match. If you can’t remember it, sign out and use “Forgot your password?” on the login page.
- “Please enter a valid email address.” / “That email address is already registered.” — pick a properly formatted, unused email. Your profile is unchanged until the email is accepted.
- “First name and last name are required.” — both name fields must be filled in before saving.
- My phone’s crew app asked me to sign in again after a password change — that’s expected; mobile sessions are revoked for security. Sign in with the new password.
- I turned guides off but still see one — refresh the page; the preference applies on the next page load.
